Sign in with Apple
Where it is available
Sign in with Apple is on iOS only. The first signed-out screen offers Continue with Apple, Sign in with email and Create an account with email. Android and the web use an email address and a password.
Ergon asks Apple for your email address and nothing else. It does not request your name.
New and returning accounts
Apple tells Ergon whether the account is new.
A returning account goes straight in after Apple confirms it is you. A new account adds a birthday, then continues the normal first run. See Setting up Ergon.
If the app closes between Apple's confirmation and the birthday, the next launch reopens Add your birthday.
Why Ergon asks for a birthday
Apple does not share one. Ergon needs it for its age rule: you must be at least 13 to use Ergon.
Under 13, no account is created. Ergon removes the Apple sign-in and disconnects from your Apple Account.
Hide My Email
Apple gives Ergon an email address when you sign in. If you chose Apple's Hide My Email, that is a private relay address, and Apple forwards each message sent to it to your real inbox.
Ergon sends account mail, monthly recaps and trial reminders to that address.
If you turn forwarding off in Apple's settings, Ergon pauses its email to you. If you turn it back on, Ergon resumes. Ergon does not treat the pause as a bad address, so nothing is blocked permanently.
Already have an Ergon account
Hide My Email gives Ergon an address that differs from the one on your existing Ergon account. The Apple sign-in then does not open that account.
On the Add your birthday screen, select Already have an account. It removes the unfinished Apple sign-in and opens email Sign in.
Move to Android or the web
Android and the web have no Apple button. To sign in there, set a password first.
- On the email Sign in screen, select Forgot password.
- Enter the address your Ergon account uses. In the app, it shows at the top of Settings. If you chose Hide My Email, that is your Hide My Email address.
- Follow the email to set a password.
Then sign in with your email address and password on any device. It is the same account, with the same workouts.
Disconnect Ergon from your Apple Account
On iOS, open Settings › Apple Account › Sign in with Apple and remove Ergon. Ergon then signs you out, including on other devices.
Your Ergon account and workouts stay. Sign in again with Apple, or with your email address and password if you set one.
Delete your Ergon account
In the app: Settings, then Delete account. On the web, use your account page. Both are described in Account & privacy. Deletion is permanent and takes effect at once.
For an Apple account, Ergon also disconnects itself from your Apple Account as part of the deletion. If Apple does not answer, Ergon keeps retrying in the background. You do nothing.
Only if Ergon holds no saved Apple sign-in for the account does the confirmation ask you to remove Ergon yourself:
Your account is deleted. To finish, remove Ergon in Settings › Apple Account › Sign in with Apple.
Your Ergon account is already gone at that point. The removal only ends Apple's side of the connection.
Delete your Apple Account
Deleting your Apple Account keeps your Ergon account. You can no longer sign in with Apple, and Ergon signs you out and pauses its email to you.
If you used Hide My Email and never set a password, you cannot sign in again on your own. Email support@ergon.training to get back in.
Write to support@ergon.training. A human reads every message, usually within one business day.
