Where your workouts can go
Ergon does not post to other training apps itself. Three routes get a piece there today: the Concept2 Logbook, a Garmin watch, and a FIT file you export.
| Route | Reaches | Set up |
|---|---|---|
| Concept2 Logbook | Strava, Garmin Connect, TrainingPeaks | Once, in the Logbook |
| Concept2 Logbook (pull) | intervals.icu | Once, in intervals.icu |
| Garmin watch + PM5 | Garmin Connect, with Training Status | Pair the watch to the PM5 |
| FIT file | Any app that imports FIT files | None; export one workout at a time |
Through the Concept2 Logbook
The Logbook forwards new results to the apps you connect there. It covers every piece in your Logbook: those Ergon writes back, and those logged any other way.
- Connect Concept2 in Ergon. See Connecting Concept2.
- In the Concept2 Logbook on the web, open the Applications tab.
- Connect Strava, Garmin Connect or TrainingPeaks there.
intervals.icu works the other way round: it pulls from the Logbook. Connect Concept2 in intervals.icu's own settings.
A piece reaches these apps only once it is in the Logbook. If a write back fails, the Result says why and offers Retry. Nothing is forwarded until it succeeds.
With a Garmin watch
A Garmin watch can record the row itself, with the PM5 paired as an ANT+ fitness-equipment sensor. Start an indoor rowing activity on the watch. Concept2's support site has the pairing steps.
This is the only route that counts toward Garmin's Training Status. A piece that arrives from the Logbook or as a FIT file does not.
Export a FIT file
On a workout's Result, tap Share, then FIT file. The phone's share sheet opens with the file. Save it to Files, or send it to an app that takes FIT files. Strava, Garmin Connect, TrainingPeaks and intervals.icu all import one through their own upload pages.
The file carries the piece's laps, distance, time, pace, stroke rate, heart rate and power, at one record a second. It carries what the Result shows you: fields that need Premium stay out of a free account's file. Export is free.
If Strava files a row as a run, change the activity's sport type after the upload.
Avoid duplicates
Use one route per app. A piece the Logbook forwards to Strava and that you also upload by hand appears twice. The same goes for a watch recording and a Logbook forward to Garmin Connect.
